Facundo Barreyra is an argentinian musician from Buenos Aires. He plays bandoneon, drums and percussion.

Since 2017 he lives in the South of Germany.

Since 2019 he teaches bandoneon and percussion at the Public Music School of Mühldorf, Germany.

Since 2018 he participates with his project TANGO CHAMBER MUSIC as a teacher in the Music Summer Academy of Mühldorf, Germany.

Facundo Barreyra played in Southamerica:

In Buenos Aires, Tucumán, Jujuy, Salta, Santiago del Estero, Río Negro, Neuquén, Santa Cruz, Chubut, Ushuahia, Entre Ríos, Islas Malvinas in ARGENTINA.

In Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales in CHILE.

In Punta del Este and in Barra de Valizas in URUGUAY. In Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia in BRAZIL.

 

In 2010 on the MSC Cruises and 2019 on the Phoenix Reisen cruise ship Artania around Latin America.

When Facundo Barreyra was 3 years old he started playing Argentinian folklore music with percussion. From age 13 he began to study drums with a private teacher.

 

From 1996 to 2002 he studied at the Municipal Institute of Music in Avellaneda, (IMMA).

At the same time, from 1996 to 2002 he also studied for the Bachelor of Media Electroacoustic Composition at the National University of Quilmes.

​

In 2001 he studied with Daniel Piazzolla also known under his nick name " Pipi Piazzolla ", who is the grandchild of Astor Piazzolla and now days a recognised drummer within the genre of Jazz and Latin music. 

In 2001 he approved the first year of violoncello at the IMMA with the cellist German Poschenrieder.

From 2002 to 2004 Facundo Barreyra studied Jazz drums with Pedro Cervera specialising in Jazz Music.

From 2005 to 2009 he studied with different drummers and percussionists, such as Norberto Minichilo - Argentina - Phil Maturano - USA -, Pete Lockett - UK- , Frank Briggs – USA, - Gustavo Meli - Argentina - .

In September 2006 he begins to study the instrument bandoneon with Roberto Chamorro and from 2011 with Eleonora Ferreyra at the IMMA.

In 2012 he has approved an orchestral conductor workshop with the teachers Glen Garrido - Venezuela - and Carlos Vieu – Argentina -, which formed part of the training for the Teachers School Orchestra Program, organised by the Argentinian Ministry of Education.

In 2012 and 2013 he took classes of chamber music arrangements, harmony and counterpoint with Daniel González Gossner.

From 2014 -2017 he studied bandoneon with the

master Nestor Marconi at the Society of Composers from Argentina (SADAIC).

In 2015 and 2016 he studied arrangements for Typical Tango Orchestras with the director and composer Ariel Pirotti at the Polo Bandoneon Cultural Center of Buenos Aires.

In May 2015 he took the seminar of harmony, composition and arrangements of contemporary popular music with Juan Carlos Cirigliano, given at the Association of Interpreters of Argentina (AADI).
